RELAY AND CO CAMP

Oh well, I just came back from my CO camp. 2D1N.
The games organised by EXCO were pretty fun and exciting. (:
I would also like to thank all of the seniors, especially the EXCO, for putting in efforts, despite their tight schedule, in organising this camp. Thanks, also, for the big stress-ball souvenir, and all the food prepared during the camp.

By the way, I would also like to thank Wee and Celeste for the birthday presents, letters, and cards, though the 'delivery' was about 2 months late. But it's okay, I still love the gifts. HEES. [=

Anyway, last week, the girls from my class, 08S29, ran for the 12X100m, 4X100m, and 4X400m Girls relay during our PE lessons on Wednesday and Thursday.

I was the second runner for the 12X100m relay. Just when I started running, my shoes came loose. Despite that, I continued running - barefooted. Haha, that's the spirit right? I know. :D

Nevertheless, my class emerged 1st for 12X100m and 4X400m relay, and came in 2nd for the 4X100m relay. We will be competing with the other classes in the semi-finals next week.

Be it win or lose, just do our very best.
What's important ultimately is, the real spirit of a sportsman, and be the true winner/victor of ourselves. That is the key factor. (=

I have been rather busy with college work nowadays, or maybe even for the months to come. Morning travelling to college and evening back home, whenever my buses pass by Tampines Soka Centre (TSC) - near Tampines SAFRA, those memories of Gakkai activities remind me of many wonderful moments... Really. (:

Haha alright, got to stop here. I have to get back to my General Paper Presentation and Project Work. (=

Woo~ I still have my Emcee script to go through for this upcoming 4-Division meeting on Sat, 29/3! Hoho, let's jiayou everyone! :DD

3.15 Meeting & 3.16 2008 Event @ EXPO

GREAT SUCCESS of the 3.15 and 3.16 Events! ((=

During the 3.15 Meeting, Mr Oba (SGI General Director) presented us with Ikeda Sensei's gifts. Each of us has gotten a file from Ikeda Sensei (Thank you very much, Sensei!), and also a baton, the size of a normal pencil.

The baton signifies that the second act of world-wide kosen-rufu has begun! Ikeda Sensei passes this baton to the youth of the 21st Century!

At the 3.16 event - FIRST YOUTH FOR PEACE INTERFAITH SYMPOSIUM: HUMANIZING RELIGIONS, CREATING PEACE, held at the Singaproe Expo Hall 4, the speaker was Mr George Yeo, Minister For Foreign Affairs, Republic of Singapore. Many other representatives from various religions were invited to give a speech at the Symposium as well. All of us were also given a book, 180 Degree Yearnings For Peace. It consists of various meaningful quotes from many people/organisations/religion groups around the globe.

It was also a ceremony of the shared commitment of mentor and disciple, in which President Toda passed the torch of worldwide kosen-rufu directly to me.

With great emotion, I now wish to entrust the next 50 years and the succession of kosen-rufu in the 21st Century to all of you, my noble friends, who have valiantly appeared in each region around the globe. Ths is your mission, and it is also the most positive and uplifting way to live as a human being and as a practitioner of the Daishonin's Buddhism - a way of life symbolising the victory of mentor and disciple."

Last weekend, my Dad, Brother, and I accompanied my Mum to Hwa Chong Junior College to take an Exam (Soka based). Here are the pictures. (:

Soka University Japan Youth Exchange

I attended the Post Chingay Celebration cum Soka University Japan (SUJ) Youth Exchange yesterday at TBSC. We sang our Student Division (SD) song, "Young Eagles", and in return, students from SUJ presented us a Japanese dance and SUJ song -
"Soka Daigaku Gakuseika".

I'm extremely touched and inspired by the spirit of SUJ students!
Their spirit, testimonial, and feelings and gratitude towards Ikeda Sensei, really touches my heart and I could feel the warmth and compassion in them.

All of us also did our Chingay Cheer and etc. All Chingay participants also received our personal Chingay'08 Tee, and Ocean Of Harmony groups photo! All those smiles though seem ordinary, they were expressed sincerely from within our hearts. They are victorious smiles, of which, have had been through thick and thin, many challenges and overcame them eventually. At the foreground of the picture, "Thank you for taking part in Chingay 08!" These were the beautiful and touching moments we had during Chingay 2008. (:

After the refreshment, some SD representatives engaged themselves in a
one-to-one heartfelt dialogue with the SUJ students at Chinatown.

This group of students are from the Economics faculty in SUJ.

Because of them, I'm inspired.

Because of their passion and warmth, I'm inspired.
Because of their optimism, I'm inspired.
Because of their politeness, I'm inspired.
Because of their friendly smile, I'm inspired.

Because of them, I have this aspiration.

Because of this aspiration,
I'm determined to do abundant vibrant gongyo and daimoku.

Because of this aspiration,
I'm determined to contribute as much as possible to kosen-rofu.

Because of this aspiration,
I'm determined to learn from Ikeda Sensei.

Because of this aspiration,
I'm determined to strive and work doubly hard towards achieving this goal.

Because of this aspiration,
I'm determined to excel in both my studies and CCA, do my human revolution, engaged in as many one-to-one heartfelt dialogues as possible, and, to win in life, becoming a true and ultimate victor.

Yeap, I have been rather busy since the actual lecture has started on Monday. To update all of you what I have been doing since then after (almost EVERY NIGHT).

* Reading of College announcement
* Downloading and printing of notes/slides for my lectures
* Sorting out my lecture and tutorial materials
* Briefly read through and revise the things that have been taught during lectures
* Update my personal notebook and blah blah blah....

We had a H2 Chemistry lecture at Auditorium today. We were going through Redox Reactions. The lecturer wrote on the touch-screen, the formula, "BaO". In Chemistry terms, "BaO" stands for Barium Oxide.

LECTURER: "What do you call this?"
STUDENTS: "Pau!" (Bun in English; For the Chinese Hanyu Pinyin, bun is written as 'bao'. .... THAT'S WHY! LOLS!)

The lecturer then wrote "BaO2" (Note: There's no such formula, the lecturer wanted to test our understanding).

LECTURER: "Then what is this?"
STUDENTS: "2 paus!!"

TPJC JAE Orientation

TPJC JAE Orientation just got better each day! xD

We had the Games Of Life on the second day. We ran around the college to different game stations. Furthermore, the games were quite interesting, with humorous OGMs! :D

On the last day (yesterday), we learned the College song and its cheer.
We also had Wet Games. My OG's first wet game required us to roll over a mat filled with flour, water, and KETCHUP! GROSS... ><
The first person who rolled over will have the most 'mixture' on them.

So the guys from my OG were rather creative/funny...? To determine which guy will go first, they used Scissors, Paper, Stone method. LOLS!

This orientation lasted for 3 days and 1 night.
Till the last day, the OGLs had already lost their voices. =X

The OG Night yesterday was just as great! (X
All of us were so high, so hot, and were rather tired after the entire orientation had ended on a high note!

Thanks to all the OGLs, Student Council, Staff, and the people who have put in lots of effort in this orientation, hence making it a successful one! (=
